In 1997, several families from the Westside Church of Christ saw a need in their community. They recognized that there was a
need for a Christian preschool where their young children could learn and grow not only academically but spiritually as well.
The preschool was a success. It provided a Christian learning environment for the founding families’ children and for many
others in McKinney.
As those young children grew, the families began searching for a Christian school that would continue to provide the spiritual
and academic learning environment that had been created at the Westside Church of Christ Preschool. Not willing to give up on
something they felt so passionate about, the families began the process of creating a Christian Academy. They gathered
information, visited campuses, talked with experts and prayed. In a few short years, they were ready to open the doors to High
Pointe Christian Academy. The first group of students were welcomed to class for the 2002-2003 school year. This first class
of 16 students, consisted of both prekindergarten and kindergarten students. The school was and still is housed in the High
Pointe Church of Christ.
Each year the academy has been blessed with growth and in turn has added a new grade level. It has gone through many positive
changes, including a name change in the spring of 2005. The school board chose to change the name to North Texas Christian
Academy in order to establish a more regional base.
North Texas Christian has always been committed to offering a balanced school experience for all students. The highest priority
is placed on the spiritual, academic and social experience. With daily Bible classes and a Christian world-view presented in
each subject, NTCA students learn God’s Word and His plan for His people. The academic courses are rigorous and expectations
for success are high. The majority of NTCA students work above grade level in all subjects. NTCA students are encouraged to
participate in community service and the 4H Youth Development program.
With the addition of grade levels, the school now has classes for preschool through 9th grade. The upper school houses 5th,
6th, 7th. 8th and 9th graders. The elementary school houses Kindergarten Readiness through 4th grade. NTCA is reaching another milestone
in the 2013-2014 school year, with the addition of a 9th grade class.
God continues to bless NTCA with a dedicated staff and families who desire to provide students with an exceptional spiritual,
scholastic, and social educational experience.
